St. Fergal's College - 'Night at the Dogs'

A very successful fund raising ‘ Night At The Dogs’ in aid of St Fergal's College, Rathdowney was held in Thurles greyhound stadium on Saturday April 25th 2009 & also on Saturday April 24th 2010.

St Fergal's College Parents Association committee organized the two events and great credit is due to this enthusiastic committee, who worked so tirelessly to ensure that both nights were a great success. Many staff and students attended and enjoyed, what was for many, a new experience.

The hard working committee ,namely, Hannah Delaney, Eamonn Fortune, Liz Dowling, Breda Bergin, Jim Houlihan, Martin Fitzpatrick, Eamonn Keane, Adrian Stanley and Margaret Hennessy is led by Samantha Parlon (Secretary) and Mai Stanley (Chairperson).


Principal Mrs Aine O'Neill and Chairperson, Ms. Mai Stanley thanked all who contributed so generously, in particular those who sponsored races, nominated dogs, donated spot prizes and those who bought tickets or made individual contributions. A big thank you to our local photographer Terence Smeaton, for his generous donation and for doing the photography on the first night.

Sincere thanks to the owners, management and staff of Thurles greyhound track for the opportunity to hold the race nights and in particular, Patricia who looked after us so well.
