The 4th February was a triumphant day for St. Fergal’s Cross-Country team. We competed in the South-Leinster Semi-Finals held at Cistercian College Roscrea and all those who took part did the school proud. Diarmuid Conway came thirteenth, Chris Rafter followed in Fortieth place, Darren Bowe came thirty-ninth and Peter Keys came in at forty-first for the junior boys.
The Intermediate Boys were up next with Conor Maher and Brandon McGinley battling on hard as a duo as two of their team members Lee Cleere and Paddy McCane were forced to drop out due to injury.
In the Intermediate Girls Division Sarah Creagh came in at an impressive twenty-sixth place. Holly Kilcare, Sarah Henessey and Eimear Guidera came in just a few places behind.
Last up was the Senior Boys with Eoin Fitzpatrick coming in at twenty-sixth place, finishing in just twenty-two minutes. Shane Bowe came in thirty-first place and Finbar Conway came in thirty-fourth place, both finished in about twenty-five minutes. Mark Hogan came in shortly after. All those who participated are to be commended for their achievements particularly due to the unsuitable weather conditions on the day itself.
