As in every other aspect of society today, information technology has become an important means of disseminating and gathering information in schools and so we hope this website will provide a rich source of material, conveying the spirit and ethos of St. Fergal.

The history of our school, as detailed elsewhere, and the mission statement underpins the characteristic spirit of our school.

Founded by local people 75 years ago, to provide education for the children of Rathdowney and surrounding countryside, St. Fergal’s continues to grow, develop and continue the tradition of learning with the hard work of teachers and the support of successive Parents Councils and Boards of Management.

We encourage all our students to fulfil their potential by working hard at their studies and participating in a wide range of activities, both cultural and sporting. As was highlighted in our Whole School Evaluation Report 2015 we “promote a caring and respectful ethos where every student can feel safe and happy.”
