This is a senior cycle programme which students may take as part of the Traditional Leaving Certificate. It focuses on preparing students for the workplace. During this two year programme two link modules are covered: The World of Work & Enterprise Education. These link modules endeavour to identify the strong vocational links between students’ optional subjects. Students are also given the opportunity to participate in a work experience module.
A portfolio of project work is also compiled and each student must sit a written exam in the May of Leaving Cert year.
Grades achieved in LCVP are recognised as part of the Leaving Certificate and as such are recognised by all 3rd level institutions. The grades are as follows:

Two subjects are selected from one of the Vocational Subject Groupings. These subjects provide students with a focus for developing vocational skills and exploring their career options.
The Specialist Groupings consist of subjects which complement one another naturally. The Services Groupings comprise subjects which complement one another in a commercial context.
