On the 12th October St. Fergal’s College’s Transition Year students took part in the Roscrea Lions Club 10km Race. Seven weeks of tough training prepared the students for the big day as part of their physical education program under P.E. teacher Mr. Fogarty. During the training period the students braved the elements to achieve the goals they set for themselves.
On race day the weather was kind to the competitors which contributed to an excited atmosphere. From the sound of the starting gun the students gave it their all and after the finish they were all rightly proud of their achievements. Despite the hard training schedule the students felt a great sense of achievement both personally and as a group no matter their level of fitness.
St. Fergal’s College would like to thank Roscrea Lions Club for all their help and the TYs were delighted to raise money for such a good organisation while also raising a few Euros for their TY fund.
