St Fergal’s College vs. Coláiste Mhuire, Johnstown.
On the 21st of October at 1:05pm, St. Fergal’s College took on Coláiste Mhuire, Johnstown. The match took place in Johnstown’s local pitch. St Fergal’s girls took off with a roar in the first half, with Sarah Creagh scoring a goal within the first 10 minutes, and with Ruth O’Connor saving goals by the minute! Holly Kilcare managed to score a point, and Niamh Coss was taking frees from everywhere! Sarah Hennessy was on fire and scored two goals within minutes for the St. Fergal’s girls. Fergal’s wrapped up the first half with another point from Sarah Creagh and were winning 3-2 to 1-3 by 1:35pm.
Johnstown girls gave it their all in the second half, scoring a goal and a point to start off the second period. Niamh Coss took 3frees within minutes, and Holly Kilcare scored a goal for the girls. Ruth O’Connor was producing great saves all around, but a penalty taken and scored from Caláiste Mhuire left Johnstown with another point, followed shortly by two goals for Johnstown. 3 points down, St. Fergal’s girls gave it their all, but Coláiste Mhuire managed to score yet another point, followed closely by a point from Holly Kilcare. In the last few minutes, both teams roaring, St. Fergal’s just missed out on a chance to draw, and the final score was 4-6 to 4-3 to Johnstown. Both teams gave it their all, but Coláiste Mhuire came out on top.
